日本旅行の11日目は日帰りで奈良へ。
On the 11th of our Japan Trip, we went on a day trip to Nara :)
近鉄京都駅から近鉄電車の急行に乗って行きました。去年も同じようにしていったのでもう慣れたものです！近鉄奈良駅到着後すぐ、興福寺に向かって歩きます。すると早速野生の鹿がお出迎え。興福寺の中には入りませんでしたが、周りをグルッと回って奈良公園へ。奈良国立博物館あたりまで、写真を撮ったりせんべいをあげたりして鹿たちと触れ合いながら進みました。楽しいとはいえ、外は猛暑で日陰でも汗が吹き出すほど。しばらく触れ合ったらすぐ次の目的地へ。
We took the Express Kintetsu train (Not “Rapid Express” - faster but more expensive) from Kintetsu Kyoto station. I had been to Nara with the same route last year so I was already used to it :) Just after arriving at Kintetsu Nara station, we headed towards Kofukuji Temple. Of course wild deers, which Nara is famous for, welcomed us. We didn’t enter the temple, but walked around it and then made our way to Nara Park. Until around the Nara National Museum, we enjoyed playing with the deers, taking selfies together and feeding them the crackers (made for them). Although it was fun, the outside was super hot and we were sweating a lot. After playing with deers for a while, we moved on to the next destination.
奈良といったらやっぱり大仏。ということで東大寺へ。大仏のあまりの大きさにスペインから来た家族もビックリ。大仏だけでなく、その建物の大きさも息を飲むほど。これがあんな昔に建てられたなんて。
Nara is also famous for the big Buddha. So we went to Todaiji temple. My Spanish family was surprised with how huge the Buddha statue was. Not only the Buddha, but the building accommodating the statue was breathtaking. Imagine, these were built looong long time ago...
外は暑かったのでみんなバテバテ。もうこれ以上外を歩いたら熱中症になる・・・ということで今回は春日大社まで行かず、来た道をもどりました。途中、お腹が空いたので（朝ごはんたくさん食べてお昼ご飯を食べていなかった）、お蕎麦屋さんによってお蕎麦やおうどん、最後にかき氷をいただいてエナジーチャージしました。
As expected, we got exhausted because of the heat. We thought we were getting a heat attack… so didn’t visit Kasuga Taisha shrine this time and returned the same way. On the way back, as we all were hungry (we had skipped lunch as the breakfast was big), we stopped by a Soba restaurant, had some Soba and Udon, then Kakigori (shaved ice) for dessert. We recovered a bit thanks to it :)
